Systronix Creates Tuition Reimbursement Program for Employees
March 11, 2016 | Systronix Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Amid the company's expansion into the aerospace sector, Houston, Texas-based EMS firm Systronix Inc. is offering a tuition reimbursement plan for eligible employees
Designed to maintain an experienced staff and grow the existing workforce, the Systronix Employee Advancement program (SEA) will provide the participants with the financial assistance to obtain, maintain, or improve job-related capabilities through participation in courses of study at accredited vocational, technical, or educational institutes.
Systronix is competing with manufacturers located across the United States as well as in foreign countries due to the global nature of the commercial aerospace industry, said Systronix president Gary Kerbow.
"One method we rely on to differentiate Systronix from the competition is to maintain a highly skilled workforce with a corporate culture that is focused on employee development," he said. "By focusing on the development and care of our employees, we have created a sense of loyalty that not only helps us attract employees but also helps to keep them.”
Regular, full-time, benefit-based employees with at least one year of service may apply for the tuition reimbursement program.
Kerbow said the plan will help recruit top talent while providing educational opportunities to employees for personal improvement of skills and knowledge.
"Having an educated and competent staff leads to increases in productivity which is critical for meeting our goal of providing best in class services," he said.
Baccalaureate and graduate level courses must be taken for academic credit through accredited colleges and universities. Courses leading to certification must be taken at a school or through an organization that is authorized by the certifying authority to provide such educational programs.
Adam Hutchison, Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Academic Officer of Student Learning at Texas State Technical College, said programs like Systronix’s employee advancement are important benefits that allow employees to continue developing their skillset as technology advances.
"We support the workforce of Texas by training the skilled workers companies need to keep Texas thriving," he said.
